Verandah with three kids in early July

Verandah with three kids in early July

Postby dweezle » Sun Mar 11, 2012 5:12 pm

My wife and I will be heading down with our 12 year old, eight year old, and 5 year old. Does the Verandah have enough activities to keep them all happy and occupied? We plan on spending a day sailing with the good folks at Miramar, they come highly recommended. Stingray city is out - the 5 year old would be screaming at the top of her lungs. We will be there for 7 nights total. Any other "must see or do" for kids that won't exclude the youngest? Also, have been having a bit of problem with the Verandah reservation people. They have been somewhat snippy and some of the "rules" seem ridiculous (two adults per room or the kids have to pay adult rate (guess single parents aren't welcome), no one can know their room numbers before checking in, etc.). I'm worried that staying at Verandah may have been a mistake but I'm stuck there since I prepaid (long story short - paid for accommodations to support a charity). Has anyone been there recently with young children? Much thanks in advance for all the help!

Can't help yet but we are headed to Verandah first week of April. Our 3 kids are close in age to yours (each of ours older by 2 years) and I'll be happy to provide some advance info based on our experience. I share the unease about dropping $ sight unseen but do take comfort in the majority favorable reviews on TripAdvisor. It has worked out for us in past so hopefully it proves right again.

Fear not!! You are in for a lovely time

We have been going to our timeshare villa at St James's (Sister resort) for 12 yrs and have spent several visits seeing friends at the Verandah.....honestly can't see it being a problem....say hi to Duggie (Julian) on the beach

As promised, here's a link to my review with some pictures of the villas. We enjoyed the resort and hope you do too! Safe travels!

Thanks, JS! Great review and pixs. I appreciate it. One question - in every pix I have ever seen, videos, reviews, etc., it seems no one ever actually goes in the pool! My two youngest are pool addicts. Do I need to bring them to the kiddie pool everyday? Seems like all anyone ever does around the big pool is sunbathe.
