La Bussola has installed a genuine wood-fired oven. Chef Omar makes wonderful pizza.

Hi Doug

Not sure what's going on with this restaurant. Stopped by last Monday around 12:30 for lunch and couldn't find a soul around. The kitchen was open, tables set but no food cooking or smells coming from the kitchen. The kitchen however looked spotless and super clean but no food. Are they open for lunch the web says they are?
Really looked forward to it but moved on.
Cheers Donna

Donna, they used to do lunch but have stopped. Don't know when. Also, they used to be closed on Tuesdays (Le Bistro was closed on Mondays - good thinking!) but now are closed on Sundays. They might have a notion to open at lunch again now that the oven is working but who knows? I pointed out that the website did not give opening hours but was met with an Italian shrug - website needs updating, they know. Haven't got a round tuit.

We had two. They were 42 and 50 EC each i.e. USD $15.55 and $18.52.

Big? One pizza per person, or one pizza between people?

Hi all,
Being la Bussola's landlord, but not having tasted the pizza yet (I live in Monks Hill, EH and leave before the oven gets going because I play tennis every night at Temo, EH), whenever I put garbage in the main garbage container I am amazed at the number of pizza boxes inside - so my guests in the apartments like the pizza. I must stay late one afternoon and have the pizza that Omar keeps offering me. I am sure it is very good. Brian

Mark,
I was told by Omar that they are not opening on Sundays, because there is little business. Best to call first. I have to go up to meet arrivals off the AC flight from Toronto, which I believe s running an hour late. I will post again if I am wrong. Brian
