There's a pretty full list of bus numbers just over half way down the first page of this thread

The best bet is a taxi. It should cost you $US 31 for up to four people with up to two bags each.

What would the fare be from Jolly to Old Road on the #22?

You my want to take in Shirle Heights while at Nelsons Dockyard however its a bit of a hike if you plan on walking and its uphill all the way . You may wish to chckewith one of the many cas that are stationed at the entrance to Nelsons Dockyard about a lift there and back . If you wish to tae in Shirly Heights I suggest you do it firts asI am almost sure when you stop to pay the ntrance charge you will get a pass for Nelsons Dockyard . The view from to top is spectacular on a clear day you can see Monserat also across th bay see Eric Claptons Villa its huge he has a lot invested in Antigua . Its for rent if you want to chck it out LOL Hope this helps perhaps one of the regular members can add to what I have just said . Have a great time chck out the blogs on Trip Reports , Photos , Food places it will help you see what there is to do and see while in Antigua . Best regards .

Moni
I went looking for bus information and voila!! there was some very helpful information from you. You have been awesome in helping us plan this trip in advance, so we know where to go, how to get there and what to see when we arrive.

Thank you Moni!!

You are welcome, Diane! You can take No.20 or No.22 bus from Jolly Harbour to St John's. The bus stop is near the Epicurean supermarket, outside the old hotel. It is a short walk from TB and definitely worth doing, the local buses are real fun. Sometimes people sing gospel songs, really great, will send you a pic from one such trip!

You may also like to have a look at the following link with various maps of Jolly Harbour and the island, see http://www.jollyharbour.com/map/

I am not sure about the organic issue you mentioned in one of your other posts, but if you have any Qs before leaving for Antigua, you could contact either Felmina, felmina@tranquilitybayantigua.com, or Dawne, dgomes@tranquilitybayantigua.com.

Cheers

Hi!
We are planning a trip to Antigua late August/early September, and are undecided about how to get around St John's. I have read several old comments about riding a bus, and wonder if anyone has the latest skinny on the bus system, e.g., fares, routes, etc. We do have experience with driving on the left (Grand Cayman), and are considering a rental car, but are leery of road conditions.

At the moment our plans include lodging at Connie's Comfort Suites and have seen comments on Trip Advisor that Connie's is w/i walking distance to the city center(?)

Many thanks,
Brett and Anita
