We went to Antigua for two weeks over new years' (a couple of weeks ago).
My friend was going down a couple of weeks later. He is in Antigua right now. He is staying at jolly Harbour. When we went to Castaways at jolly Harbour I decided to buy him a drink - at such time as he arrived there a couple of weeks after me. I talked to the bartender (Keron) and the manager (didn't learn her name) and asked about how I would buy my friend a drink without being there. They were a little taken aback, but, even though they were busy they took the time to record my name, record his name, and to give me a receipt so, as they put it, "everything would be on the up and up".
I told my friend to look up Keron, and when my friend arrived at the bar he found the sign below. They had his name slightly misspelled from the writing on the receipt carbon copy, but they were making sure they honoured the commitment to get my friend a drink. I am sending an email thank-you to Castaways, but also thought I would put the picture he sent me up here on the board. I have read a fair bit of complaining about Antigua on a different site (board), but the complaining didn't match up with my experience while there. I found folks to be friendly, generous, decent, helpful and fun. We only had mediocre service once in our whole time (better than where I live). And this post is just another example of the awesome Antigua I found.
