Best beach in Antigua

Hi -

My fiance and I are strongly considering Antigua for our honeymoon in September and wanted you opinions/feedback on the best beach/s in Antigua. We are looking for the clear calm waters with white sand beaches.

Any feedback is much appreciated!

Thank you,

Mark

Hi Mark

You've picked a great honeymoon destination. Of course there are 365+ beach that Antigua boasts about but so many can only be accessed by boat. For this reason you might consider taking some type of boat cruise like Adventure Antigua or Treasure Island. If you rent a car, which I recommend, you will have many options to stop at several of the best beaches. IMHO the best is Half Moon Bay. If you go there take a lunch and cold drinks as there is only one bar open close by but it's more fun to picnic at this location.

As you travel around Darkwood is stunning, Ffrys is a favourite. I love Long Bay too for it's interesting sights, beach vendor shops and Mama Pasta for lunch. Good snorkeling here too.
Pigeon Beach is another favourite for the calm water and Bumpkins Restaurant and no hotels.

Oh, there's more but you can check them out on your 1st anniversary!
Cheers Donna

Very difficult to choose one beach among 365, even because it depends on your own tastes. I particularly appreciated the nothern side of Dickenson Bay (after the wharf), Carlisle Bay, Curtain Bluff Beach and Rendezvous Beach (reachable after a 40 minutes walk from Spring Riding Club in Falmouth).

The best beach in Antigua is Half Moon Bay but the calmest imho is Jolly Beach. You would enjoy the waters of Green Island of which ,I am sure Eli"s company visits! Enjoy your vacation!best regards; Bunny
