Immigration Form...

Postby bkaye » Thu Mar 04, 2010 5:11 pm

We came in on the Delta on Wednesday and were of course given the immigration/customs form on the plane to fill out. While you have nothing to do on your flight, fill out the ENTIRE form. That means all THREE sections. The form does ask for redundant information, but if you don't have it done right, you'll be trying to do it while moving thru the queue. Section A is the inbound information, Section B is for the outbound information and Section C is for customs. A and B are on the front, and C is on the back. You will need passport numbers and inbound and outbound flight numbers. You'd think this obvious, but there were a lot of people that didn't complete the form, to the annoyance of the rest of us.
Speaking of immigration, there were a number of flights that arrived at the same time, so it took over an hour to get thru the queue. Once you get thru that, you pick up your checked luggage and then, get in another line. This time to give the customs form to the customs agent. Most people will have nothing to declare, so you should enter "None" in the items to declare list. That is, of course you in fact have nothing to declare. The good news is the wait was only about 5 minutes.
Have a nice trip and be sure to dress accordingly. Travel in something comfortable, or change on the plane, as you'll sweat your a... Oh, you know what I mean...

We landed yesterday just before 3:00 PM on American out of Miami. ;) Since I have personal experience with NOT Filling Out all three segments, you can be assured that that is the very first thing I did as soon as we took off. The Virgin flight came in ahead of us so the line went out the door  and we were standing next to the musicians for a while. They must have brought every immigration officer as the line picked up speed :!: . BA and Continental came in right after us so we heard some groaning  as we made our way to the Immigration Officer. Our luggage was already in the terminal so with a little help from a Red Cap we were at the taxi stand in no time :D . there was a couple from the Virgin flight that were set to go to Siboney so our bags were quickly added and off we went. As I always predict, we were at Antigua Village, checked in and a cold beer in my hand in under two hours. Island Time for me :D :D :D .

One interesting was that while in the arrivals hall you could hear the announcements for the departures clear as a bell :?: so I guess the lads need to move the speakers the other way around.

Got to run, I hear a cold beer beconning.
