Our Favorite Restaurants 2011

Well we are back home and after two great weeks on Antigua, I wanted to sum up which restaurants were our favorites so here goes:

Catherines = best location and very good food
Mia Cucina = best Italian, superb food & very good location
Coconut Grove = best cheesburger & happy hour
Papa Zouks = best fish & funky atmosphere
Cafe Bambula = best restaurant in St John's
Cecilias = excellant food, great location

Juile Brown asked for our favorite three but I just couldn't narrow it down so Julie you will just have to try all of these great places and judge for yourself.

Catherines is on the road to Shirley Heights but well before you reach the top you will see a sign toward the Antigua Slipway. Turn down the hill and you will go right into the repair area. It doesn't look like you're in the right place but you are! Drive straight to the end and park. Walk around the ships and you will see the restaurant on the left side. Johnny Coconats and Catherines share the waterfront deck so go to the far end. Not easy but worth it. (The 2nd time will be easy)

Cecilias is on the North side. Follow Country Club Road (past Sandals, Colona etc.) Keep to the waters edge and you will see it. If you have a map it's at Dutchmans' Bay area.

Bambula is in St. John's on High street. If you go up Market St. (north) and turn right on High St. It's on the right side next to RBTT Bank.

Big Banana at Redcliff makes the best chicken wraps. So happy they moved back to their old spot.

Donna....yes Big Banana does great wraps....can't wait to go back one night now they are back in the new....erm old place...the one they moved to was like Macdonalds and a tyre depot....but we used the original place for a few years

Not long till July and I can't wait.....been 2009 since we went out

Hi Julie, sorry to day that Mia Cucina will be closing in May. New owners are coming in from Rome and I think they plan to open in November

On the way to English Harbour, past Liberta, you will see a sign for Catamaran Hotel/Marina. Turn down the road and when you reach the hotel turn to your left... it's a weird road but will take you to the Catamaran Marina and that's where you will find the restaurant. Best of luck to the new owners.
